The Gherkin is one of London’s most iconic buildings. Opened in May 2004, this office block is a triumph in modern architecture, winning many prizes for its design. The building is officially 20 St Mary Axe, but is fondly known as the gherkin due to its distinctive shape. There is a bar and restaurant at the top of the tower which is run by Searcys and plays host to business meetings and weddings throughout the year.
